With a background in both ocean and atmospheric sciences, I consider myself an “earth-system scientist”. As such, I am interested in a range of topics, with particular interest in the interaction between different components of the earth system.
My interests include:
Coastal oceanography, especially the influence of physics on biogeochemical cycles
Boundary-layer meteorology
The relationship between (coastal) ocean properties and weather/climate
Ocean-atmosphere interactions and exchanges (e.g., of momentum, gases, etc.)
I also believe in the application of a range of tools and methods in research. This includes utilizing and collecting observations from various sources (including in situ and remote sensing) alongside performing numerical simulations and experiments.
